Pop-up Class

Pop-Up Outdoor Classes

With fall in full swing, we truly hope to be able to squeeze in some final outdoor classes if/when the weather permits!

Here’s how our pop-up classes will work:

  • We will be keeping an eye on the weather, and if upcoming day(s) look nice enough, we will send out a text and an email 24-48 hours in advance alerting families to the pop-up classes. The classes may take place any day of the week.

  • The text and email will include a link to sign your child(ren) up online. Online registrations will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis, and our minimum of 4 children must be met by 7 PM the previous evening in order to for the class to run. (So please don’t wait until the morning of the pop-up class to sign up! Thank you!!)

  • Pop-up classes will take place at the Cantata Campus, directly across the street from the Brookfield Zoo.

  • Pop-up classes cannot be used for make-up classes from previous sessions.

Be sure to sign up to get text alerts for our pop-up classes!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this just something fun to do? What can you possibly teach an infant?

We love being asked these questions because one of the most rewarding experiences we have as infant music teachers is watching parent’s absolute amazement at how many skills their infant picks up in music class every single week.

Yes, it’s true that perhaps 4 – 12-month-olds may not be ready to shake a shaker egg to the beat or tap the triangle without assistance. In all likelihood, they may prefer to try to eat the rhythm sticks rather than tap them together. But don’t let that fool you! Neurons are firing like crazy, and infants are taking in every subtle nuance that will ultimately lead to an explosion of musical and non-musical skills.

What’s the number 1 reason to sign my infant up for music classes at BAMM?

Our teachers are highly talented and trained musicians, and they absolutely LOVE teaching early childhood music! They facilitate a fun, playful, and nurturing environment that allows your infant to learn and grow every single week. As an added bonus, our community is full of moms and dads who are just as eager as you are to socialize their little one and maybe even make a friend or two themselves!

I’ve heard music is beneficial for infants, but is there research to back this up?

The research on the benefits of interactive music classes on infant brain development is astounding, and one definite result of the research is that babies who engage in active music lessons with their parents show a higher level of development in multiple areas than babies who simply listen to music with their parents. Language development, self-soothing and self-discipline, creative expression, fine and gross motor skills, and both verbal and nonverbal communication are just the start of the many benefits of early childhood music classes.

And don’t forget...if nothing else, music classes are fun and friendly!

Each session, we have parents coming to class raving about a new behavior they saw in their toddler that was a direct result of music class. And in addition to all of the invaluable benefits your child will gain from participating in an interactive music class, our music classes also provide a fun and joyful way to spend quality time with your little one away from screens and home distractions. Our classes are packed full of fun and laughter, and they are a fantastic way to meet other local moms and dads with children the same age. It brings us so much joy to see parents and children starting lifelong friendships in our classes!
