Pop-Up Classes
With fall in full swing, we truly hope to be able to squeeze in some final outdoor classes if/when the weather permits!
Here’s how our pop-up classes will work:
-
We will be keeping an eye on the weather, and if upcoming day(s) look nice enough, we will send out a text and an email 24-48 hours in advance alerting families to the pop-up classes. The classes may take place any day of the week.
-
The text and email will include a link to sign your child(ren) up online. Online registrations will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis, and our minimum of 4 children must be met by 7 PM the previous evening in order to for the class to run. (So please don’t wait until the morning of the pop-up class to sign up! Thank you!!)
-
Pop-up classes will take place at the Cantata Campus, directly across the street from the Brookfield Zoo.
-
Pop-up classes cannot be used for make-up classes from previous sessions.
Be sure to sign up to get text alerts for our pop-up classes!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this just something fun to do, or will my child actually learn music?
We love being asked this question because one of the most rewarding experiences we have as early childhood music teachers is watching parent’s absolute amazement at how many skills their little one picks up in music class every single week.
In addition to learning such musical terms and concepts as beat vs. rhythm, tempo, dynamics, basic note reading, etc., our Mighty Maestros class is designed to help your child increase self-confidence, work well with others, and discover and own their creative voice.
What’s the number 1 reason to sign my child up for music classes at BAMM?
Our teachers are highly talented and trained musicians, and they absolutely LOVE teaching early childhood music! They facilitate a fun, playful, and nurturing environment that will fully captivate your little one and inspire creativity and connection that extend far beyond the classroom. Additionally, the child-only Mighty Maestros class is the perfect place to gently introduce your child to a classroom setting prior to starting preschool or kindergarten.
I’ve heard music is beneficial for young children, but is there research to back this up?
The research on the benefits of interactive music classes on brain development is astounding, and experts agree that early childhood music education is a vital tool for cognitive, social, and academic growth. Repetition of lyrics, steady beats, and vocal inflection improve language development, communication, literacy, and problem-solving (such as math) as your child grows.
And don’t forget...if nothing else, music classes are fun and friendly!
Each session, we have parents raving about their child becoming more self-confident and expressive both in and out of the classroom. And in addition to all of the invaluable benefits your child will gain from participating in our Mighty Maestros class, it’s a great way for your little one to make friends! Moms and dads often share that their child was so nervous on their first day of preschool or kindergarten, only to find out they already have friends from music class in their new school!
